Pheromones: Let's Talk About Them

Published on April 4, 2026 at 10:57 AM

Hey, y'all, thanks for joining me! Today we talk about pheromones. What do you know about them? They say that pheromones may be the logical explanation for people who experience love at first sight. Here are a few more fun facts to start:

What are pheromones?

They're like a secret language between bodies.

What do they do?

They can make someone you're ALREADY attracted to seem more attractive.

How do they work?

Humans have a special organ for detecting them, the vomeronasal organ - VNO for short.

Can we smell them?

It may seem that way, because with pheromones someone smells lovely. But no, only our VNO can detect them.

Where did they come from?

Pheromones were discovered in 1959 by Adolf Butenandt. He won a Nobel prize for his discovery with silkworms!

Hopefully you learned a bit and hopefully you don't think I'm too weird now. Lol. But...this blog is not for the normal, I will tell you that!

Thanks for stopping by. See you next time!
